چکیده
The objective of this work was to evaluate in a batch system the effect temperature, adsorbent dose and particle size elimination Cadmium (II) ions using corn cob (Zea mays). A central 22 star composite type experimental design used. From characterization bio-adsorbent by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), it found that its structure has OH, COOH, methyl amino groups, intervening process. It at 55 ºC, 0.031 g 0.6775 mm maximum adsorption capacity obtained (210.1 mg/g). kinetics, established removal occurs rapidly first minutes equilibrium is reached 120 min, data being adjusted Pseudo-Second order model. fitted Langmuir model, suggesting uniformly on surface bio-adsorbent. Corn presented as an effective for aqueous solution.

Kinetics studies of uranium sorption by powdered corn cob in batch and fixed bed system
Sorption of uranium (VI) from aqueous solution onto powdered corn cob has been carried out using batch and fixed-bed technique. The experimental results in batch technique were fitted well with pseudo second-order kinetics model. In the fixed bed technique, Thomas and Bohart-Adams models were evaluated by linear regression analysis for U(VI) uptake in different flow rates, bed heights and initi...

In this study chitosan hydrogel beads with porosity ~ 0.86 and diameter ~ 20.07 mm were prepared from 85 % deacetylated chitosan for removal of Cd2+ ions from aqueous solutions. Chitosan powder was dissolved into dilute acetic acid as solvent and formed into spherical beads using a phase inversion technique. The effect of temperature, initial ...

متن کاملRemoval of Hg(II) and Cd(II) Ions from Aqueous Solution Using Chitosan: Kinetics and Equilibrium Studies
Background and purpose: The discharge of toxic heavy metal ions into the environment is a serious pollution problem. Heavy metal ions pose adverse toxic risks to human health at very low concentrations. The aim of this paper is the adsorption potential of chitosan (CS) in the removal of Hg(II) and Cd(II) ions from aqueous solution. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted in laboratory s...
